My mother just informed me that the Secret Service tried to reach me through her, telephoning her office. Apparently they and some police were at my home earlier today also. I have a clear conscience, but so, evidently, does Jose Padilla, and it hasn't kept them from imprisoning him without charges. I don't know what they've done to him while they've had him locked up, but I know what's been happening at Guantanamo and Abu Ghraib, and I know death is preferable. This may be just an attempt to frighten me into silence. If so, it will not work. I am determined that the only way they will ever silence me is to kill me. I know I made the right decision when I decided to have weapons with me at all times. The taser frightens me far more than the Glock. It may be nothing, but, if this is the last anyone hears from me, that's why.
