When you look at these prices remember that
the prisoners are slaves and only make 5¢ to 50¢ per hour.
And the prison doesn't even pay the slaves all of their wages
and removes a large percent of it for other uses.
At those slave wages it takes 11 hours of work at the 5¢ wage to buy a 20 oz bottle of Coke which the Arizona State prison sells to the inmates for 55¢ a bottle
- before the state takes its deductions out of the prisoners' wages.
There are 5 levels of security at the Arizona State Prison. Level 5 is for the most dangerous inmates thru level 1 which is the least dangerous inmates. Each level has a different list the inmates can buy. This list is for the level 4 inmates which are one notch below the most dangerous inmates. |
